Filling Out Your Ballot? View Labor's Lineup of Endorsed Candidates

Updated On: Oct 15, 2008 (15:31:00)

Click on the Endorsements category in the left hand column of this page to view the candidates who've recieved endorsements from the Montana labor movement.  These candidates were selected as the clear front runners in supporting, protecting, and promoting working families in Montana.

The Montana labor movement SUPPORTS LR-118, the University System's Six Mill LevyFor nearly 90 years, Montanans have approved the six mill levy (LR-118) that helps fund the university system.  This funding is the financial foundation the University System is built on. Though it must be reauthorized every 10 years, Montanans have never failed to approve it. Education is a vital part of our state’s industry and economy and we have the opportunity to approve the Six Mill Levy again this year.  We recommend a vote in favor of this critical funding for education.

Pictured above are a group of women in Montana leadership; Representatives Jill Cohenour, Margarett Campbell, Jennifer Pomnichowski, Wanda Grinde, and Senator Christine Kaufmann.  All pictured legislators are labor endorsed candidates in this election.

Below you'll find a list of election administrators, their addresses, phone numbers and e-mails.

Unions Unite for Obama!

Updated On: Oct 15, 2008 (15:10:00)

Standing among a dedicated group of  union representatives that are pictured above you'll find Teamsters Union President James Hoffa, Montana AFL-CIO Executive Secretary Jim McGarvey, Teamsters Local 190 Secretary-Treasurer Joe Dwyer, and Plumbers and Fitters Local 41 Business Agent Ole Stimac. It's a great day for all workers when labor stands together.

Teamsters Union President James Hoffa joined the ranks of organized labor right here in Montana on September 20th.  President Hoffa is the only son of labor legend Jimmy Hoffa who served as President of the Teamster's Union in the 1950's and 60's. Current President James Hoffa has lead the Teamsters Union as their President since 1999. The Montana labor movement was honored and excited to welcome him to our great state.

President Hoffa talked with union voters about supporting Barack Obama for President due to working family values that drive his commitment to restore strength and prosperity across our nation.  Crowds of union members  turned out to volunteer and engage in the rare opportunity to meet an American labor leader who's biography will be written in the history books for future generations!
